A Logic Model for Fiber & Fabulous
Evaluation Plan
What strategies were used to ensure the priority population received adequate communication of the program?
Assessment Method: Monthly round table discussions will be held with implementers to identify and assess recruitment strategies.
Required resources include: Adequate and agreeable time, meeting location, tables, chairs, snacks, water, pencils & paper or digital equivalent for taking notes and recordings.
This is important to determine the actual population that responded to the program and will indicate if marketing strategies should be adjusted.
Recruitment
Did 80 percent of the participants that registered attend all 12 classes?
Assessment Method: Participants are encouraged to preregister for classes and sign in at each class.
Required resources include: Google Form for digital registration, personnel to create forms, printed sheets for in-person registration and class sign-in sheets. Pencils, pens.
Identifying attendance rates will indicate if there are issues with location, dates, time, staff or curriculum content. The other aspects of the program are based on this curriculum content.
Reach
Fidelity
Was the curriculum accurately executed in classes?
Assessment Method: The program assessment team will observe classroom activities and discuss inconsistencies with implementers.
Required resources include: Personnel to observe activities, written or digital resources for recording or note taking.
This helps identify if the curriculum is clear and easily replicated and if there are issues with instructor training or interpretation of the curriculum content. Adjustments can then be made for further training or to content and delivery methods.
What barriers can be identified that Fiber and Fabulous implementers met?
Assessment Method: Monthly focus groups will be held with implementers and participants to identify and discuss barriers.
Required resources include: Personnel to facilitate focus group. Adequate and agreeable time, location, tables, chairs, snacks, water, pencils & paper or digital equivalent for taking notes and recordings.
Focus groups will be optimal for understanding what challenges are happening within the program either curriculum-wise or logically. This can alert implementers to adjustments to overcome challenges efficiently. This is also vital for budget management.
Context
Were all 12 classes held, and were social media posting and participation goals met?
Assessment Method: Implementers and the social media team will be surveyed post-program.
Required resources include: Google Forms for surveys. Personnel to create forms and compile data.
If the dose is not fully delivered, it could impact program results and therefore overall outcomes and program evaluation.
Dose Delivered
Based on survey information, did both implementers and participants enjoy the Fiber and Fabulous program?
Assessment Method: Post-program rating scale questionnaires (from 1 to 5) will be offered to both participants and implementers. One = did not enjoy and 5 = enjoyed very much.
Required resources include: Google Forms and/or printed questionnaires. Personnel to create forms and compile data.
Understanding if those who implemented the program and those who participated enjoyed the program will not only help understand if long-term program goals are more likely to be met, but if it would be recommended for replication or expansion.
